With reference to the previous post...wireless charging! i can say that this concept is gaining heat. Worlds leading seller of mobile handset chips is working on similar concept. Interesting thing is that as a close partner to many OEMs, ODMs qualcomm enjoys the credibility and got the power to leverage their relationships in driving the products similar to this which are closely related to embedded devices. Major advantage is that as the chipmaker sells about 60 million silicons per quarter, it will be easy for them to latch on to this market, by integrating the eZone solution to the chips they sell. Ofcos only when the OEMs are convinced with qualocmm's solution!!
Surely if Qualcomm eyes this as an oppurtunity one of the following might be the case -
1. Either Qualcomm wanna drive this big.
2. Or Qualcomm predicts that this area is destined to get big and they jumped in..!
Anyways initial entry to this market is by powermat (http://www.pwrmat.com/) . Its wait and watch until both grow as rivals in this business or the biggie acquires [ as it happens usually! ;) ..... Oops now a days law suits are order of the day, restrictive trade practices caution!! Beware Qualcomm :) ]
